Be about action.
Homie, in a world where knowledge is abundant, it is the discipline of action that truly sets us apart to be the dopest. Opening a gym and starting a business has been a real eye-opener for me in this regard. It underscored a vital lesson: to excel in anything, you must cultivate a disciplined attitude towards action. You are not tired, just go and do dog. This principle of lack of action was especially clear during my struggles with addiction. Back then, my only drive was the pursuit of heroin or crack. But what really turned the tide against addiction was a commitment to action.
It's peculiar how, when we're at our lowest, we often lose this very discipline of action. The willpower to get our of bed, pick up the phone to ask for help, get sunlight, stretch, eat well, read, be of service, work hard, and do what's right seems to vanish. Yet, the irony is that we usually know what needs to be done. When I grapple with my mental health, I know the steps I should take: be of service, get some sunlight, read a book, eat healthily, get with those I love and quit being wack. These actions sound simple but executing them can be surprisingly challenging. Our personal moral codes and basic life knowledge often tell us what we should avoid, like excessive junk food, laziness, overconsumption, drugs, too much sex, but putting this into practice requires a steadfast attitude towards action.
So, here's my encouragement to you: If you're disciplined in any area of your life, apply that same discipline to action. Focus on improving your physical and mental health to improve your discipline of action. Take time to craft a sustainable plan and stick to it. If mental health is your battleground, optimize your environment to lift yourself out of bed, find a community to combat depression, or devise a plan to tackle wack ass anxiety.
Remember, the key is to slow down, make a well-thought-out plan, and then act on it. Embrace the discipline of action, and you'll see transformative results in both your physical and mental well-being. Don’t just know what to do; let's do it with purpose and discipline and change the world. One love.
