Does your value change—or is your value innate?

That’s the question I want to pose. And it's not an easy one. Think about it for a second……. When I ask this in groups with people who are deep in addiction, I often hear the same thing: “When I’m stealing, lying, and doing damage to others because of my addiction, I feel like I’m worth less.” But here’s the truth I’ve come to believe: your value is innate. Just by being here, you matter. Your value isn't something you earn—it’s something you protect.

That doesn’t mean your actions don’t matter. They absolutely do. Your actions either align with your value or they don’t. And when they don’t, it gets harder and harder to believe in yourself. I’ve lived it. I write about it in my book. When I was in rehab, struggling with identity and purpose, there was a moment during my seventh step prayer when someone looked me dead in the eyes and said, “Matt, if you understood your value and your potential, you wouldn’t be acting like this.” That moment has stayed with me. The way he said it, the way he looked at me—I’ll never forget it. It helped shift something in me. Thank you Brother Cipp.

Now, it’s my mission to give that same belief to others. Because I truly believe your value doesn’t waver—even when your actions do. And whether or not you believe in a higher power, I do. I believe we were all created with value, purpose, and potential. But that spark? That spark fades unless we protect it. You don’t need motivation—you need systems. You need discipline. You need daily practices that remind you of who you are.

Four hours a week. That’s what I challenge people to dedicate to their personal fitness. It’s not just about your body—it’s about showing up for yourself consistently. Do that, and I promise you’ll feel healthier, happier, and more confident. And if you’re struggling right now, just know you’re not alone. Get connected. Reach out. Read my book. Follow the content. But more importantly—believe in your value. That’s where the change begins.

Believe in yourself or no one will. One love.
