Is there a cure for addiction?
Right at the top, let’s get honest:
There is no cure for addiction.
But there is something better. As the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous says:
“What we really have is a daily reprieve contingent upon the maintenance of our spiritual condition.”
Addiction is a disease. And like many diseases, there’s medication.
But in this case, the medication isn’t found in a pill bottle—it’s found in your dailies.
Your medication is discipline. Your prescription is consistency. Your treatment plan is spiritual. We call it a psychic change. A daily reset. A daily surrender. A daily remembering of who you are.
You’re not healed forever—you’re healing every single day.
So what does that look like?
• You wake up and connect with your Higher Power.
• You pray. You meditate.
• You journal and get honest with yourself.
• You plan your day. You become conscious with your time.
• You fuel your body—protein, water, sunlight.
• You move your body—walk, stretch, work out.
• You show up and work hard.
• You attend meetings.
• You serve others.
• You grow.
This is your medicine. And you don’t miss a dose.
Because when you stop showing up for your spiritual health, the disease starts to whisper again. It tells you lies. It convinces you to isolate. It numbs your purpose. It steals your identity.
So no, there is no cure.
But there is a path.
A spiritual, physical, mental path that you walk every single day.
Take care of your spiritual health.
Journal. Meditate. Connect. Be of service. Learn about yourself.
Because purpose isn’t just given to you. You have to work for it.
